The fashion show of the six most successful Hungarian designers will close the festival on 24th of February at 8 pm. The fashion show is a unique event as all six internationally known young fashion designers are on the runway in one show. The fashion show is part if a movement organised by Marie Claire and WAMP whic says: wear designers clothes from Hungarian fashion designers.

The six fashion designers are the following:

USE

The name USE is dated to 2002 when three designers: Eszter Füzes, Attila Godena-Juhász and András Tóth started working together. USE group has became generally known after their presentation at a fashion show by Kati Zoób in 2005. Their fine collections is now available in several cities of the world from Paris to Tokyo. At the beginning, USE worked with black colours and avoided patterns. In their 2008 spring-collection however you can find turquoise and silver, while in the summer even pineapple yellow. In 2007 they were awarded the fashion designer of the year, in 2006 the young fashion designer of the year at 2007 Fashion Awards Hungary.

Konsánszky Dóra

After graduating at the University of Craft and Design (now MOME) Dóra Konsánszky studied at the École Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in Paris and at the College of the Society of Haute Couture. In her design you can find a combination of the structural and feminine elements as well as the elements of French couture. She has also worked as a fashion journalist and had several of her own fashion shows. One of her most important exhibitions took place in the Museum of History in Budapest where she exhibited her corsets presented as sculptures. In 2006 she was awarded the fashion designer of the year Fashion Awards Hungary.

Je suis belle

The brand “I am beautiful” was established by Dalma Dévényi and Tibor Kiss who graduated as fashion designers at the Moholy-Nagy University in 2007. With their collections they target brave, individual, easy-going and intellectual women. They disregard commonplaces, mixing modern and classic elements and materials, and they also put a great emphasis on playfulness. They both spent some time studying at the London College of Fashion in 2006. Their works regularly appear in the biggest magazines in Hungary (The Room, Pep!, Glamour, Elle etc.). They primarily design upper clothes for women but are also occupied with accessories. They were awarded the young fashion designer of the year at Fashion Awards in 2007.

Artista

The six young fashion designers started working together in 1993. in their own studio. Members of the designer group are: Kati Imre, Nóra Rácz, Adina Schön, Juli Iván and Kati Stampf. The name Artista (acrobat or artiste) was given to them by students of the upper grade at the University of Craft and Design (today MOME) which they have used ever since then. Apart from Budapest they have their own shop in Austria and give fashion-shows in both towns as well as in London. They have several collections which have appeared in the press in Hungary and abroad and also in commercial films.

Nanushka

Nanushka is a name used by Szandra Sándor graduated at the London Collage of Fashion. Her brand name derives from her childhood nickname. To the famous English fashion school she apply by googling and was successfully accepted. Her collections are characteristic by their reserved colours, comfort, function and the mixture of tradition and modernity. In general she designs clothes that she would herself wear and similarly to USE likes using black. In 2006 she was awarded the young fashion designer of the year at Fashion Awards Hungary. Her clothes are available in the USA, Japan, Helsinki, Madrid and London. Even Lucy Liu was seen in Nanushka once.

ANH TUAN

Luu Anh was born in Vietnam and has been living in Hungary for 17 years. He spent a semester at London Collage of Fashion and now is graduating at MOME (Moholy-Nagy University). He was chosen as the talent of the year at Wella Fashion Show in 2007 after which he was invited to the fashion week of Prague and Zagrab. His winning collection for which he applied black and its tonalities was based on the works of Rembrandt. One of his previous mini-collections was inspired by Buddha, another one was designed for the competition of UNESCO entitled Love/Why?. He puts great emphasis on accessories which he designes himself. In the past few years he travelled almost all around Europe and even South- and Middle-Asia to gather inspiration for his collections.
